Operation Catnip

Website Redesign

For this project I wanted to update the Operation Catnip website as I felt that it could use a more streamlined structure and cleaner aesthetic that showed off the great photos that they have on social media but have not used in their website.

I was in a unique position to help as due to connections I happened to have access to the raw images of what they have in their collections.

Their previous homepage can be seen here against my own.

The first thing to tackle was the site map. There are many small branches of the site that I believe can and should be condensed into more cohesive and compact pages.

For example volunteering, donating and purchasing could all be condensed into a page outlining ways to support Operation Catnip. Chances are if someone wants to support Operation Catnip monetarily they probably would like to know of volunteer opportunities as well.

With the changing landscape in how people view the internet I also believe it is important to focus on the mobile experience for the website as well.

With the audience of Operation Catnip being college students and practicing veterinarians in their late mid 40s to mid 50s I believe that this experience must hold up as smartphone usage amongst these two groups are high.
